Budget 2022-23 as per Expectations of the People: Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra
Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra President, Principles Association of GNDU Affiliated Aided Colleges and Principal Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar has lauded the financial budget of Punjab 2022-23.
Jalandhar, June 27, 2022: Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra President, Principles Association of GNDU Affiliated Aided Colleges and Principal Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar has lauded the financial budget of Punjab 2022-23. In a press release today Dr Samra welcomed the government’s decision of imposing no new taxes and lauded budgetary provisions on various sectors including Health and education. He said that the government’s decision of allocating rupees 200 crores for Punjabi University would definitely bring the university out of the financial crisis it was undergoing. He also said that provision of scholarships and concessions worth rupees 30 crores for the General Category students would prove highly beneficial for the meritorious and deserving students. Dr. Samra lauded government decisions of allocating of Rs.1033 crores for medical education with an increment of 56.6% over the last year’s provisions and upgrading 100 existing schools as schools of eminence. He said that these decisions were well in line with the government’s commitment to health and education.
About the government decision of Punjab Young Entrepreneur Program for class 11 students, Dr Samra said that it was going to be a revolutionary step in providing self employment opportunities to the youth of the state. He mentioned that the government decisions of regularising 36000 contractual staff services and of filling 26400 vacancies in government sectors deserved praise as this would lead to a feeling of security among the youth of the state.
Dr Samra lauded the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan’s announcement in the assembly regarding implementation of 7th pay commission recommendations for the college and University teachers of the state and appealed to the government to issue a notification regarding this soon.
