BURJ DHILWAN INCIDENT: SC Commission summons report from DC & SSP Mansa in 15 days

Chandigarh, April 21, 2016: Taking serious cognizance of the news reports regarding highhandedness of some politically well connected persons against a Dalit in Burj Dhilwan village in district mansa, The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has summoned comprehensive action taken report from Deputy Commissioner and SSP Mansa within 15 days.
Disclosing this, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman, Mr. Rajesh Bagha said that prime facia it has noticed that this incident is very serious and the culprits needs to be identified and brought to the books. He said that DC& SSP has been directed to submitted the report within 15 days so that action according to law may be initiated against the culprits. As per the reports Laxman singh resident Maur, who repairs generators and transformers at village burj Dhilwan has been manhandled by some politically well connected persons. Thay have passed casteist remarks against the Dalit and harassed by calling every day to police station and compromised after fine him for Rs. 51000 .
Mr. Bagha said that taking serious notice of the case, the commission has directed the Deputy Commissioner and SSP Mansa to initiate strict action and submit a report.
