Punjab Declares Paid Holiday On June 14 In Factories, Shops And Commercial Establishments In Concerned Constituencies

Chandigarh, June 9, 2015: To enable the workers working in factories and shops & commercial establishments situated in Punjab to exercise their democratic right of bye-election to 2015 of Sarpanches/Panches and election of complete Gram Panchayats the Amritsar, Bathinda, Barnala, Ferozepur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Fazilka, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Kaputhala, Ludhiana, Moga, Mansa, Sr Muktsar Sahib, Patiala, Saheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Sangrur, Panthankot, Roop Nagar, Mohali and Tarn Taran districts on 14-6-2015 (Sunday), the Labour Department Punjab has declared that June,14, 2015 (Sunday) would be the weekly paid holiday for all  factories, shops and commercial establishments situated in these constituencies where Sunday is not observed as weekly off within the state in lieu of their normal weekly holiday.

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Labour Department said that  notifications have already been issued in this regard.
