Cabinet Minister Brahm Mohindra inaugurates STP in Khanna
Appreciates efforts put in by his colleague Gurkirat Singh Kotli
Khanna (Ludhiana), December 11, 2021: Lauding the efforts put in by the Cabinet Minister and MLA Khanna Gurkirat Singh Kotli for construction of STP in Khanna, the Cabinet Minister for Local Government Brahm Mohindra stated that this will solve the water/ sewerage related problems of people in the constituency.
The STP is situated near Majri Rasulara which has been built with an estimated cost of Rs 124.03 crores.
Khanna’s approximate population is 1,37,107 and looking at the dire need of this project for this town, this project was initiated in 2017.
The STP will treat 29 million litres every day and the length of the sewerage lines is 98 kilometres.
Similarly, there are nine tubewells, five water tanks and 104 kilometres of water supply lines which will resolve all the major issues related to water supply.
Gurkirat Singh while addressing the gathering started that this project was long due snd he could take it to completion with the support of the people and various officials in the concerned departments. He also shared that the work for sewerage and water pipelines has also commenced which will cover 10 kilometers thus covering large part of Khanna constituency. In addition, the remaining parts of Khanna will be covered under the project Jal Jiwan Mission at the earliest, the minister informed further.
On the other hand Brahm Mohindra in his address stated that Congress government has fulfilled all its promises and will carry on serving the people with utmost sincerity.
