Chandigarh/Hoshiarpur: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders condemned the derogatory remarks made by Khalistani supporter Gurpatwant Pannun about the architect of the Constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and said his motive is to create division among the people of Punjab.

On Thursday, AAP Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh and Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal addressed a press conference on this issue in Hoshiarpur. AAP MLAs Jasvir Singh Raja Gill and Brahm Shankar Jimpa were also present.

Dr. Ravjot Singh stated that Gurpatwant Pannun wants to divide the people of Punjab, but he will not succeed.
He said, “The people of Punjab are wise and can see through such tricks. Punjabis will never tolerate such incidents.”

He added, “This incident has hurt millions of people who revere Babasaheb, especially those in the Dalit community. We want to send a message to Pannun to refrain from his such statements. I believe he is mentally disturbed, and if anyone on this earth is his well-wisher, I urge them to get him treated.”

Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that Pannun’s remarks are highly condemnable
“Our gurus, saints, and prophets have always spoken about humanity and unity. Such remarks cannot be made by a religious person. These people have only one agenda — to create division in Punjab and forward their petty politics.”

He added, “Babasaheb Ambedkar was not just a leader for Dalits; through the Constitution, he gave constitutional rights to women, minorities, and all marginalized communities. If not for the Constitution, democracy might not exist in the country today.”

Dr. Chabbewal said, “Pannun is a fugitive. He is not only a fugitive in India but also in the US and Canada, where he lives underground. Even agencies cannot trace him there.” Challenging Pannun, Dr. Chabbewal said, “If you have the courage, come to Punjab. If not, make such statements before Indian communities abroad. and you will see who Babasaheb Ambedkar truly is.”

AAP leaders announced that on April 14, the birth anniversary of Babasaheb, all AAP workers and leaders will safeguard his statues with flags and sticks, giving a befitting reply to such mischievous elements.

Dr. Chabbewal appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to bring Gurpatwant Pannun to India under international laws and take strict action against him.
