Cabinet Minister lays foundation stone for various projects to attract tourist in region
State Cabinet Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs Anmol Gagan Mann today laid the foundation stone of the various projects to attract more tourists in this border district.
Ferozepur, June 23, 2023: State Cabinet Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs Anmol Gagan Mann today laid the foundation stone of the various projects to attract more tourists in this border district. The cabinet minister was accompanied by MLAs Rajnish Dahiya, Ranbir Bhullar, Naresh Kataria, Fauja Singh Sarari, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman and Director Tourism and Cultural Affairs Amrit Singh besides others.
While addressing the media persons, the cabinet minister said that the state government would spend an amount of Rs. 15.5 crores to upgrade the war memorials in Ferozeshah and other places under Project “Anglo Sikh War Circuit”. She said under this project, the department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs would renovate and upgrade the Anglo Sikh War Museum at Ferozeshah with 9.98 crores, Saragarhi Memorial with estimated cost of Rs. 1.70 crores, Mudki Memorial with 98.95 Lakhs, Sabraon Memorial with 82.89 lakh, Mishriwal Memorial with 23.36 lakh, Ferozeshah Memorial with 70.44 lakh and Aliwal Memorial in Ludhiana will be beautified and upgraded with latest technology with an estimated amount of Rs. 70.44 lakhs.
The Cabinet minister also laid the foundation stone of the museum to be constructed at Saragarhi memorial.
She said that the state government is making efforts to develop the historical sites of the region as tourist attraction at national and international level.
The Cabinet Minister visited the national martyrs memorial and paid floral tributes to the martyrs Bhagat Singh Rajguru and Sukhdev. On this occasion, SSP Bhupinder Singh, SDM Ranjit Singh, Red Cross Secretary Ashok Behal and others were present.
