Punjab’s Freedom Fighter and Defence Welfare Minister, Mohinder Bhagat, on Monday directed officials from various departments to expedite the pace of ongoing development projects in urban and rural areas to ensure completion within stipulated timelines.

Ludhiana, April 28, 2025: Punjab’s Freedom Fighter and Defence Welfare Minister, Mohinder Bhagat, on Monday directed officials from various departments to expedite the pace of ongoing development projects in urban and rural areas to ensure completion within stipulated timelines. 

He was also accompanied by Dr Sukhwinder Sukhi, Subhash Bhagat, Chairman, Market Committee, Jalandhar, Kimti Bhagat, ex chairman, Punjab Gau Sewa Commission, besides others.

During a comprehensive review meeting held at the Circuit House, the Minister emphasized the Punjab Government’s commitment, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to the holistic development and welfare of all sections of society. He instructed officials from the Local Bodies Department to prioritize timely completion of all projects under their purview. He stressed the importance of ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary without delay. 

Bhagat also directed department heads to personally monitor ongoing projects to maintain high standards of quality and adhere to deadlines. Additionally, he encouraged officials to submit proposals for new development initiatives to enhance civic amenities.

To further strengthen the implementation of welfare schemes, Bhagat emphasized the need for robust coordination among departments. He urged officials to conduct regular field visits to assess the ground-level impact of these schemes and address any bottlenecks promptly. He reiterated that the Punjab government is dedicated to transparent and efficient delivery of services, ensuring that the progress of Ludhiana aligns with the government’s vision of inclusive growth.

Bhagat also highlighted the importance of community engagement in development projects. He directed officials to involve local stakeholders, including residents in planning and execution to ensure that projects meet the specific needs of the area.
