Cabinet Minister Rana Sodhi inaugurates Rs.17 Cr projects for govt high schools in Guruharsahai Constituency
He said that people of villages could see for themselves that SAD-BJP government had not done anything in the name of development during its tenure
Ferozepur: The Cabinet Minister Youth Services and Sports Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi inaugurated the development projects at a cost of about Rs. 17 crore in the government schools of Guruharsahai constituency through video conference at District Administrative Complex Ferozepur.
On this occasion, he was accompanied by SDM Guruharsahai Ravinderpal Arora, District Education Officer Secondary Kulwinder Kaur, District Education Officer Elementary Rajiv Chhabra, Political Secretary Gurdeep Singh Dhillon, Bhupinderpal Singh (Raju Sai Wala) were especially present.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi while inaugurating the works of 107 schools of Guruharsahai constituency at a cost of Rs. 17 crore said so far Rs.18 crore has been spent on infrastructure and government schools in Guruharsahai constituency and Rs. 1 crore on the system, 50 lakh for sanitary pad machines for girls in schools, projectors and LEDs for smart classrooms. Rs.1.25 crore for 1350 mobiles for online education of 12th standard students and 3500 benches for primary schools.
Talking to the heads of various government schools in the constituency during the inaugural function via video conference, Cabinet Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi said that due to the hard work of the teachers the number of children studying in government schools has now increased. The enrollment of children in government schools apart from private schools is a testament to the fact that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has provided facilities like urban schools in the rural schools. In addition, in view of the importance of online education during the epidemic, 1400 smartphones have been provided to the 12th class students so that they can study while at home.
He said that during the tenure of SAD-BJP government in the state since 2013, the SAD-BJP government had not given anything in the name of development to the government schools of Guruharsahai while with the coming of his government in 2017, the government has improved the education system and now the government schools in Guruharsahai have all the facilities including smart schools, smart classrooms, LEDs, furniture.
In addition, under the Building as Learning Aid (BaLA) project, inspirational slogans and pictures have been put up on the walls of the school so that the children can be inspired. He said that education is the third eye of human beings through which we can reach every destination.
Rana Sodhi also said that people of villages could see for themselves that SAD-BJP government had not done anything in the name of development during its tenure and Congress during its tenure had provided all facilities including school buildings to health facilities. Clear examples of this can be seen in the school buildings and other projects in the constituency. The number of children in the schools has also increased from 24480 to 30424 which has increased to 6000 and will increase further during the coming session, he added.
On this occasion, Deputy D.E.O. Komal Arora and Sukhwinder Singh, Sarabjit Singh, Sukhdev Singh and Pawan Madan, Angrej Sandhu, Vicky Sidhu and Sevak Sandhu were present among others.
