Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond felicitates Jaskaran Singh of Bhumaddi village for passing UPSC exam
Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Saturday visited Bhumaddi village in Khanna to especially honour Jaskaran Singh, who passed the UPSC examination and became an IAS officer.

Khanna (Ludhiana), April 26, 2025: Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Saturday visited Bhumaddi village in Khanna to especially honour Jaskaran Singh, who passed the UPSC examination and became an IAS officer.
The Cabinet Minister stated that Jaskaran Singh (23) was previously selected for the IRS after passing the UPSC exam and now, at the age of 25, secured the 240th rank to become an IAS officer. This achievement has brought pride to Bhumaddi, Khanna, Ludhiana district, and Punjab.
Sond extended warm congratulations to Jaskaran Singh, praising his education, hard work, and determination. He encouraged Punjab’s youth to dream big, maintain self-confidence, and seize available opportunities by focusing on their studies to set an example for others. He expressed hope that Jaskaran Singh would be allotted the Punjab cadre to serve Punjabis, further elevating the region through his services, just as he has brought pride by becoming an IAS officer.
Minister Sond emphasized the Punjab government’s efforts to promote education through various programs and expressed his desire for Jaskaran to inspire youth to pursue education, enabling more IAS, IPS, and IRS officers to emerge from Punjab. He highlighted a recent decision by the Punjab government to assign one government school to each IAS and IPS officer, who will visit their respective schools monthly to deliver lectures and motivate students to pursue education.
Jaskaran Singh also thanked the Cabinet Minister for the honour. He advised youth that numerous opportunities for employment and education exist in India. By becoming officers, they can serve the nation and address significant issues through effective decision-making. He credited his parents, grandfather, and sister as his role models. His father, Jagmohan Singh, is an ASI in Punjab Police, his mother, Amritpal Kaur, is a former teacher and his grandfather, Karnail Singh, is a retired army officer.
