Cadet of Lyallpar Khalsa College honored on arrival at college after participating in Republic Day Parade
Jalandhar, February 17, 2022: Students of Lyallpur Khalsa College are excelling in academic, sports and cultural activities. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra said that Cadet Kanwaljit Singh (Army Wing), representing the college in the Republic Day celebrations, has taken this trend even further. The National Cadets Corps is the largest youth organization in the world. This youth organization has about 15 lacs cadets in India. Cadets have to go through a difficult selection process to participate in Republic Day. He also said that this is considered to be a very prestigious achievement in NCC. It may be mentioned here that the students participating in the Republic Day can be a part of the Indian Army without taking any written test. Only medical check up is required. Officer Dr. Karanbir Singh informed that Cadet Kanwaljit Singh, currently pursuing B.A., is a student. In this selection process first he was selected in 2 Punjab Battalion and then in Group Headquarters, Jalandhar. After this in Ropar, he was selected in the academy where cadets from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh also came. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra congratulated Kanwaljit Singh for this achievement and said that he would be a source of inspiration for the rest of the students. N.C.C.
