Cadets participate in Cyclothon Rally on the 76th NCC Raising Day
There are approximately 1.7 million NCC cadets across the country who undergo NCC training every year to prepare themselves for the defense of the nation. The NCC Raising Day is celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday of November. To make this day memorable, various programs are organized by the NCC headquarters.

This year, on the occasion of the 76th NCC Raising Day, a 15-kilometer cyclothon rally was organized for cadets under the guidance of Colonel Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer of the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion. All cadets from ITI Mehr Chand, Jalandhar, gathered at 7 a.m. at the DAVIET College ground, where the 10-day CATC 41 Camp of NCC was being conducted.
Colonel Vinod Joshi motivated the cadets and briefed them on key points to remember while cycling. He emphasized taking care of both their health and the environment. Special arrangements for refreshments were made for all the cadets. The 40-member NCC cadet rally was flagged off by Colonel Vinod Joshi from DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Under the leadership of Lieutenant Kuldip Sharma, the theme of the rally was "Awareness Among Citizens About Environmental Protection." The rally started from DAVIET College and passed through HMV Chowk, Patel Chowk, Jyoti Chowk, PNB Chowk, Skylark Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Football Chowk, reaching Kapurthala Chowk. Here, the cadets paid tribute to the statue of Shaheed Major Raman Dada by offering floral tributes.
The rally then proceeded via Gulab Devi Road to its final destination at Burlton Park. Along the entire route, the cadets chanted slogans of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," energizing the atmosphere. Lieutenant Kuldip Sharma praised the cadets for maintaining discipline & enthusiasm and encouraged them to continue participating in NCC activities in the future.
