Cambridge International School for Girls, Jalandhar on Saturday organising Fete (2015-16).

Jalandhar, December 27, 2015: ‘In this dangerous world that we live in where hatred and violence and natural disasters sometimes collide to almost over-whelm us, we each can help in some way.’
With ‘help’ being uppermost in our minds the CISFG decided to dedicate all efforts for the recent calamity- the Chennai floods, as well as human oneness which ‘Walk of Hope’ is endeavouring to achieve. In the wake of this strive the Cambridge family came up with ‘Fete’ on 26th December.
At the very conception of the idea of the fete a new vibrance gripped the campus with students pouring in with great ideas about the games, eatables and decoration. Each class was given a minimum of two responsibilities which the students conducted with commitment.
The ‘Fete’ was inaugurated by our esteemed Chairman Mr. Ajay Bhatia, the Vice-chairman Mr. Deepak Bhatia, the Executive Director Mr. J.K.Kohli, Member of LWES, Mr. Nitin Kohli and the Principal Ms.Deepa Dogra escorted by the Vice-principal Ms.Preeti Sharma and the Co-ordinators.
The ‘Walk of Hope’ stall attracted the young and the old. It will not be in-appropriate to pause a while and reflect on what ‘Walk of Hope’ is. It is padayatra for Peace and Harmony by the ManavEkta Mission from KanyaKumari to Kashmir led by the great saint and mentor, Sri M. to rekindle the nation with inter-faith harmony, love, peace, hope, equality and oneness. Many books which are the collection of personal experiences and reflections of the esteemed Sri M. were made available for the people at this stall.
Interested games like Burst a Balloon, Pot Luck and Hoopla mesmerized the crowd. Casino, Dart game and Tam bola allured the gathering in over-whelming number. Bell Tower-Ladder game, Place Me Right and Hit the Snowy added jollification in the assembly.
‘Selfie and Groupfie’ Corner, Dance Corner and Bhangra added gaiety to the atmosphere while Skittle, Candy Land and Ghost Paradise effused mystery and mirth to the air.
Dil Se Direct and Music on Demand poured romance and vivacity to the moods of the visitors and the students. The Tattoo Corner attracted the spirited young minds.
The Raffle Stall, with its attractive prizes like Laptop, Tablet, Mobile Phones, Microwave, Camera, Music System and many more, was a heart throb.
That was not all! The girls of CISFG kept in mind to excite and satisfy the palates of the visitors by coming up with a variety of eatables from North to South and East to West of the country yet not leaving behind the taste of Europe which Dominos and Dunkin Donuts added on.
The mouth- watering Tikki, ChannaBhature, PavBhaji, Idli and Dosa, Noodles and Manchurian, French Fries, Burgers and Ice-Cream gave a rollicking ride to the ‘foodies’ and ‘non-foodies’ alike. The aromatic coffee, the refreshing juices and cold-drinks quenched the thirst of many.
‘Fetes are fetes’ but this one was different because genuine exuberance was the innate part of it. The management, the staff and the students instilled vigour and vibrancy to the atmosphere. Laughter and mirth reverberated in the campus. All through the fete and its preparation, the students toiled, co-operated, created, enjoyed and learned the message of togetherness and oneness which is the key essence of ‘Walk of Hope’. The students worked untiringly till the last filling the air with gusto there by making the ‘Fete’ a towering victory.
