Cambridge Student Outshines in International Chess Tournament

Jalandhar, July 22, 2016: Games play a vital role in overall development of a human being. Indoor and outdoor games are equally important. Chess is a game of mind and concentration which has maintained its popularity and interest even with the present generation. The young and spirited players of Cambridge International School keep participating in various events and outshine in maximum of them.
A very promising student of our school, Dushyant participated in an international Chess event held in Czech Republic and stood First in below 1900 rating category in the chess tournament held in Ceske Budejovice.
He also gained 122 Elo points in this tournament. Moreover he gained total 206 Elo points in two tournaments held at Czech Republic. It is a matter of pride for all that now his rating will be 2039.
Under the guidance of his coach, a lot of effort has been put in by Dushyant to be able to achieve this remarkable feat.
This outstanding achievement made him stand out and earn praise from everybody. On this occasion, Chairman of the school Mr. Ajay Bhatia, Deputy Chairman Mr. Deepak Bhatia Chairman Learning Wings Mr. J.K Kohli, Dr Brijesh, Mr. Nitin Kohli, Chief Education Officer Ms Deepa Dogra , Secretariat Directors Learning Wings Ms Kiranjoth Dhillon, Ms Meenu Huria , Ms Preeti Sharma Principal Mr Stanley Anthony and Sports Coordinator LWES Mr Sikand , Deputy Sports Coordinators LWES Mr. Anurag Bhardwaj and Ms. Harpreet Kaur appreciated Dushyant for such whole- hearted involvement in the game . They advised him to keep putting in so much effort regularly also so that he can outshine others in all the events to come.They also congratulated Dushyant for securing first position in State Level Chess Tounament under 17(Boys).Entire School Management also congratulated Anahita Verma for securing first position in State Level Chess Tournament under 9 (Girls).
They extended their congratulations to Sports Coordinator LWES Mr Sikand, Deputy Sports Coordinators LWES Mr. Anurag Bhardwaj and Ms. Harpreet Kaur and the entire sports department for taking sports events to such a high level. They also extended their congratulations to the Sports Department for their selfless service and the hard work put in by them.
Expressing gratitude and appreciation, Dushyant’s parents thanked the entire school authorities for their invaluable co-operation and providing him extra time to cover the loss of academics. They feel proud about the phenomenal performance of their ward. They also added that his hard work and dedication really paid him well as he has been playing this game since his kindergarten.
