Jalandhar, April 30, 2015: April is the month to bleed blue. We are certainly not talking about our cricket team here but a developmental disorder known as Autism. Worldwide, April is recognized as the month of awareness for Autism. Keeping up with the tradition, Cambridge International School will be joining forces with autism advocates this Thursday to raise awareness and much needed funds for Autism. Under the aegis of its Management and Special Needs Department, the school organized an Autism Awareness March on Thursday, which began at the Cambridge Foundation School and the staff and students from Cambridge Foundation School, Cambridge International School for Girls and Cambridge International School, Chotti Baradari marched upto Cambridge International School, Chotti Baradari, Jalandhar. They were offered refreshments and beverages on the way.

An effort was made to bring about awareness through the banners that they were carrying during the march and also through the slogans recited by the enthusiastic volunteers who were strongly driven to motivate the world by raising a call for hope. It was indeed a ‘Walk of Hope’ for all those suffering from the disorder and for their families as it would certainly help in creating a congenial and a supporting environment for them.

While having a child with autism in the family is mostly a personal struggle but the school wants to help them by building an extended support for these families through this march. The message it wants to spread is loud and clear. This April, let us come together to understand that Autism is different but not a matter of worry, Autism is not a choice, however acceptance is. Let us embrace the different with unconditional love and warmth.

Chairman Ajay Bhatia, Deputy Chairman Deepak Bhatia, Directors Learning Wings J.K. Kohli, Nitin Kohli, Academic Director Deepa Dogra and Principal Cambridge Foundation School, Meenu Huria, Principal Cambridge International School, Chotti Baradari Kiranjot Dhillon and Vice Principal Cambridge International School Preeti Sharma, joined the march spreading the message of compassion and empathy towards those who suffer from Autism. They also appreciated the efforts put in by the special needs department of all the Cambridge Institutions for organising this march.
