The pursuit of development, peace, brotherhood, and prosperity has always been a priority for global superpowers. However, controversies such as war threaten to disrupt these objectives, leading to devastating consequences for the world’s economy, trade, and commerce.

War is not a solution; rather, conflicts should be resolved through dialogue, negotiation, and ceasefires. Armed conflicts result in massive destruction, environmental degradation, and global warming due to the use of explosives like bombs and missiles. Such wars not only claim innocent lives and leave many children orphaned, but they also reduce years of infrastructural and economic progress to rubble. At a time when the global population is increasing, along with the demand for food and essential commodities, world leaders must focus on fostering peace. A stable environment would allow nations to concentrate on trade, commerce, and food production, ultimately helping to curb inflation in the coming years.

War leads only to destruction, and it is up to global leaders to maintain peace. Political authorities should prioritize job creation for unemployed youth and enhance agricultural production to ensure food grains remain available at reasonable prices for consumers.

Another pressing issue today is the rise of synthetic drug consumption, particularly among unemployed youth. Recognizing this crisis, the Punjab Government has recently taken decisive action against drug traffickers. The state authorities have directed the Punjab Police to eradicate the menace of synthetic drugs within three months. Now, it is in the hands of law enforcement to effectively tackle this challenge and save the youth from addiction.

Climate change and global warming are also significant concerns in the modern world. Agricultural scientists must educate farmers on crop diversification and encourage the adoption of advanced farming techniques to maximize yields.

Environmental conservation is another critical area requiring immediate attention. The Delhi Government, upon assuming office, initiated efforts to clean the Yamuna River. Similarly, the Union Government has taken steps to rejuvenate the sacred Ganges. It is now imperative to clean Punjab’s rivers and educate the public about the dangers of releasing toxic wastewater into these water bodies. Additionally, industrial units should be mandated to install treatment plants before discharging wastewater into drains. Contaminated water from drains eventually reaches rivers, affecting both agricultural irrigation and drinking water supplies.

A peaceful, prosperous future is within our reach, but it requires global leaders to make thoughtful decisions that prioritize stability, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.
