Canadian MP Joe Daniel, NRI Priti Lamba celebrate `Dhian Di Lohri’

Ludhiana, January 13, 2014: Joe Daniel, Member of Parliament (Don Valley East) from Canada and NRI Priti Lamba specially participated in the `Dhian Di Lohri’, organised by Malwa Sabhyacharak Manch here. Both were given a warm welcome on their arrival at Punjabi Bhawan here by the Manch’s chairman Krishan Kumar Bawa, president Pawan Dewan and convener Ravinder Rangoowal.  They celebrated the festival of Lohri in a traditional manner.
Speaking on the occasion, Joe Daniel said Punjabis had played a major role in development of Canada. He also said that the traditions of Punjab had attracted him a lot.
In his address, NRI Priti Lamba said she had failed to forget Punjab even after residing in Canada. She thanked the office-bearers of Malwa Sabhyacharak Manch who were trying to save rich culture of Punjab even in the present times.
Express their views, Bawa, Dewan and Rangoowal said the Manch celebrated the girls’ Lohri every year, to give a message against social evils to the society.
