Chandigarh, April 16, 2019: Elante mall, the region’s favourite destination for shopping and merrymaking, reverberated with traditional Canadian tunes on Tuesday evening as a Pipe Band of the Vancouver Police performed in the mall to celebrate the Indo-Canadian relationship.

The 24-member Police Pipe Band celebrated the strong ties between the two nations by playing their signature melodies and the tune of the Indian patriotic song “Sare jahaan se achchaa” in the presence of the Consul General of Canada, Mia Yen, and Vancouver Police Board member Barjinder S Dhahan, a Gursikh.

Led by Chief Constable Adam Palmer of the Vancouver Police, the band was accompanied by Deputy Chief Constable Steve Rai and Dhahan.

The Vancouver Police Pipe Band, which has been entertaining people from all over the world for more than a century, is among the world’s oldest police pipe bands.
