CANCELLATION: Badal cancels trip to Bologna in view of Canadian PM’s visit in state

CM was to lead delegation at Farm Expo-2012 in Italy

Chandigarh, October 26, 2012: In view of the impending visit of the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to the state on November 7, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has cancelled his official trip to Bologna in Italy.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Badal was scheduled to lead a delegation of eminent farm equipment manufacturers and progressive farmers from the state at the “International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition-2012” there from November 7 to 11.

Assuming the significance of the visit of Harper, the Chief Minister took this decision to immediately cancel his visit to Bologna. The Canadian Prime Minister was slated to visit Sri Harmandir Sahib at Amritsar to pay her obeisance there and the prestigious Virasat-e-Khalsa at Sri Anandpur Sahib, the spokesperson added.
