Bathinda, March 26, 2022: As a part of a special cancer awareness campaign organized at Bombay Gastro and Cancer Hospital, Dr. Sanjeev made citizens aware of cancer screening.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Consultant Surgical Oncology, Manipal Hospital, Dwarka said, “A large number of people are in advanced stages of cancer. However, it is important to remember that most cancers are detectable at an early stage, when treatment is easier and more successful. Lumps in the breast, ulcers in the mouth that are not healing, jaundice, changes in the intestines, unexpected weight loss, all these can be symptoms of cancer, which can help in timely diagnosis of cancer. We should also know that treatment options have improved and developed over the years. The disease which was incurable earlier, is possible to cure today. Cancer surgery can now be done by robotic surgery, with successful results. With the help of the latest technologies like Hypec and Pipec, it is possible to cure cancer even in stage 4.
Dr Manjeet Joda also added and said that free screening camps will be organized at regular intervals in and around Bathinda so that cancer can be successfully treated by detecting it in the first or second stage.
