CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM FOR FARMERS FOR SAFE AND PRUDENT USE OF PESTICIDES

Ludhiana, November 20, 2017: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar organised capacity building program for farmers and pesticide dealers for safe and prudent use of pesticides. Under this program the farmers were given complete information on safe use of pesticides, different groups of pesticides, their mode of action, proper spray technology and their recommended use in agricultural crops by Dr Astha, AP (PP).
Dr. Raminder Kaur, AP (Agron) gave tips for proper and safe use of weedicides in different crops like cereals, oilseeds and pulses. Dr Bhupinder Singh Dhillon, Associate director KVK, discussed the status of pesticide consumption in Punjab and tips for its safe use. Participating farmers were fully convinced and satisfied with training along with their queries were also addressed by the experts. Fifty nine farmers participated in this capacity building program.
