Capacity building training programme organised by DRV DAV Centenary Public School
Three-day capacity building training programme was organized by DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur, under the aegis of DAV CAE Regional Training Centre, aimed at enhancing the teaching skills of language teachers for classes 3 to 12. The event, held from 1st July to 3rd July, saw the participation of 175 teachers who were eager to enrich their pedagogical approaches and strategies for fostering lifelong learning among students.
Phillaur, July 5, 2024: Three-day capacity building training programme was organized by DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur, under the aegis of DAV CAE Regional Training Centre, aimed at enhancing the teaching skills of language teachers for classes 3 to 12. The event, held from 1st July to 3rd July, saw the participation of 175 teachers who were eager to enrich their pedagogical approaches and strategies for fostering lifelong learning among students.
The workshop aims at providing teachers with innovative pedagogical tools and strategies,sharing insights and best practices learned from Master Trainer workshops organized by the DAV Managing Committee, New Delhi,and to discuss and develop effective learning outcomes for students in language subjects.
The workshop commenced with a common session led by Dr. Yogesh Gambhir, the cluster head, focusing on learning outcomes. This session set the tone for the subsequent days by emphasizing the importance of clear and measurable learning outcomes in the teaching-learning process.
Resource persons from various schools conducted interactive sessions on new pedagogies and strategies to make students lifelong learners.
The resource persons were as under: Silky Kaur and Ms Niza Mahindru from Police DAV Public School ,Jalandhar ( EEDP classes 1st to 2nd); Sonu from Police DAV Public School ,Jalandhar (English classes 3rd to 5th); Divya Jyoti Chopra from Police DAV Public School ,Jalandhar and Ms Vandana Sharma from DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur (English classes 6th to 8th); Oorja Sharma and Ms Nidhi Masand from DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur ( English classes 9th to 10th); Manoj Dutta from Police DAV Public School ,Jalandhar (English classes 11th to 12th); Babita Singh from Police DAV Public School ,Jalandhar (Hindi classes 3rd to 5th); Ritu Garg and Ms Vishali from DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur (Hindi classes 6th to 8th); Ritu Monga from Police DAV Public School ,Jalandhar and Ms Rajni Bala Dayanand Model School, Model Town Jalandhar (Hindi classes 9th to 10th); Paramjit Kaur from Police DAV Public School ,Jalandhar (Punjabi classes 3rd to 5th); Savita from Police DAV Public School ,Jalandhar (Punjabi classes 6th to 8th); Ramandeep Kaur from DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur ( Punjabi classes 9th to 10th).
The participants left the workshop with a renewed sense of purpose and a wealth of new ideas to implement in their classrooms, ensuring a brighter future for their students as lifelong learners. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the school expressed his sincere gratitude to worthy ARO Dr Rashmi Vij for her guidance in making these workshops a resounding success. Moreover his statement highlighted the critical importance of applying workshop learnings in the classroom, ensuring the goal of fostering lifelong learners is achieved.
