Parked her car on the riverbank, water level increased
Chandigarh, June 25 (HS): Locals rescued a woman who had travelled to a shrine in Haryana's Panchkula on Sunday after the car she was sitting in was carried away in a river, officials said. The woman had driven to Kharak Mangoli to worship at a temple and had parked her car on the riverbank. The river's water level suddenly increased, and her automobile was carried away in a flash flood while she was still inside. Locals rescued the woman from her car in the midst of a strong torrent of water and brought her to a nearby hospital, according to authorities. On social media, a video of the rescue attempts was shared.
In a yet another tragedy, which was averted on time, an official claimed that a team from the National Disaster Response Force rescued eight individuals who were caught along the Ghaggar river in Panchkula. Rain in the river's catchment areas raised the river's water level. According to a MeT office report, rain fell in Ambala, Karnal, Narnaul, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Gurugram, Kurukshetra, and Mohali over the last 24 hours, ending at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
