From the makers of Dream Girl, comes another quirky, comedy women-led film, Janhit Mein Jaari featuring the talented Nushrratt Bharuccha as Manokamna along with Vijay Raaz, Anud Singh Dhaka, Brijendra Kala and Paritosh Tripathi in pivotal roles. Directed by Jai Basantu Singh, the comical satire keeps you invested in the proceedings in Manokamna’s life, dotted with everyday humor.
Talking about the film, Nushrratt Bharuccha said, “I have grown up in a family where we were transparent about everything and there was no place for taboos. So, when I read the script of Janhit Mein Jaari, I was intrigued by it. While the crux of the film is very much like a PSA but the whole treatment of it was different which could pierce through the audience without making them uncomfortable. Collaborating with Vijay Raaz was a whole new experience for me, he brought in a fitting contrast to my character. And a story like Janhit Mein Jaari requires a certain degree of honesty, thoughtfulness and empathy; and we have tried our best to incorporate it all. Hope the audience of Zee Cinema enjoys the film as much as we did making it.”
Embedded with love, laughter and awareness, Janhit Mein Jaari is a social satire that takes us on a journey of a female salesperson, Manokamna, who takes up a challenging job, something society deems inappropriate for small-town girls. A tragic turn of events pushes Manokamna to immerse herself more emotionally and responsibly into the job than ever before. Will she find her family, seeped in conservative ideologies, standing by her side eventually or will she paddle through all alone?
