Weight Sensing Footsole
Developed by : Nikhil Thakur (Biomedical Engineering)
Guide : Mr. Nitesh Raj (Robotics Lab)
DESCRIPTION:
The aim of this project is to determine real time visualization of pressure for studying the weight distribution in foot. It provides information about Gait mechanics and has a wide range of applications, i.e. in clinical situations and in sports. Its aim is to help people recover from injury promoting a faster rehabilitation. We have a multitude of pressure sensitive sensors placed throughout the insole, this means that some cross/relationship calculations has made between adjacent sensors. With the data it will be possible to create a real-time pressure map which is displayed to a mobile screen with help of Bluetooth for immediate diagnosis by doctor or/and recorded for later playback.
APPLICATIONS:
• To determine the weight distribution among the foot.
• For Gait analysis of the foot and find the Gait abnormality.
• To determine the cause of injury or on play sport activities.
• Amount of stress during heavy weight exercises.
• To design the customised foot sole for the an individual suffering from some problem or athlete to maximize the performance.

Development of Nano Materials for Agricultural Purpose
Developed By : Parul Sharmaa, Preeti Thakurb, Atul Thakurc

Recent advances in engineering lead to the fabrication of nanomaterials with unique properties targeted toward specific applications. The use of nanotechnology in agriculture, in particular for plant protection and production, is an under-explored area in the research community. Fungal diseases are one of the leading causes of crop destruction and, in this context, the antifungal effect of nanoparticles of cobalt and nickel ferrite against phytopathogenic fungi is reported here. As a proof of concept, it is also shown how such nanoparticles can be used as fungicides in plants. The developed cobalt and nickel ferrite nanoparticles (CoFe2O4 and NiFe2O4) are successfully tested for antimycotic activity against three plant-pathogenic fungi: Fusarium oxysporum, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, and Dematophora necatrix. In addition, it is also observed that these ferrite nanoparticles reduce the incidence of Fusarium wilt in capsicum. The study suggests that nanoparticles of CoFe2O4 and NiFe2O4 can be used as an effective fungicide in plant disease management.

Applications –
? The discovery and development of novel fungicides is important to combat the newly emerging resistant strains of pathogenic fungi.
? The present study shows the antimycotic efficacy of nanoparticles of CoFe2O4 and NiFe2O4 against Fusarium oxysporum, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, and Dematophora necatrix.
? In addition, the present study also demonstrates that nanoparticles of CoFe2O4 and NiFe2O4 have the potential to reduce the disease incidence of Fusarium wilt of capsicum and could be used for its management.
Results at the micro- and macrolevel suggest that nanoparticles of CoFe2O4 and NiFe2O4 could be used as an effective fungicide in plant disease
