Celebrating World Cinema Day: A Special Day for Red Cross Old-Age Home residents
On the occasion of World Cinema Day, the Ashok Kumar Malhotra Charitable Trust, in collaboration with Red cross society and Ek Vachan Welfare Society, organised a heartwarming event for 40 senior citizens from the Red Cross Old-Age Home. The group enjoyed a special movie screening of the classic film Bibi Rajni at Cinepolis, MBD Neopolis Mall, Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, September 20, 2024: On the occasion of World Cinema Day, the Ashok Kumar Malhotra Charitable Trust, in collaboration with Red cross society and Ek Vachan Welfare Society, organised a heartwarming event for 40 senior citizens from the Red Cross Old-Age Home. The group enjoyed a special movie screening of the classic film Bibi Rajni at Cinepolis, MBD Neopolis Mall, Ludhiana.
The day was planned with the aim of providing these elderly residents a break from their daily routines, filling their hearts with joy and entertainment. Following the movie, the group was treated to a sumptuous lunch at Café Delish, located in the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel MBD Ludhiana.
One of the elderly participants, 73-year-old Suresh Pal, expressed his happiness, saying, “It was a wonderful day. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and the lunch was delicious. It’s been a long time since I had such an enjoyable outing.”
Another senior, 74-year-old Shayam Sunder, shared his thoughts, saying, “If you do good to others, others will do good to you. I’m grateful to those who organized this day for us.”
Sonica Malhotra, Joint Managing Director of MBD Group, reflected on the event’s success: “We wanted to give back to the community by creating memorable moments for these elders. It was an honor to host them, and seeing their smiles was incredibly fulfilling.”
