Celebration of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji
Ludhiana, November 16, 2019: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, GGNIVS, GAMING and GGN Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, all the educational institutions, which have been running under the efficient guidance and supervision of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council celebrated the 550th Birth Anniversary of the first Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji with zest and zeal. The pious event started with the Bhog of Sehaj Path after which Prof Jaspreet Kaur, in-charge, Gurmat Sabha and college unit of Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle welcomed the sangat. The students along-with their teachers from GGNIMT, GGN Public School and the college itself recited religious and sacred hymns in melodious voice. Prof Sarabjit Singh from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana shared his views on Guru ji and told the students to follow the preaching and divine message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He also told that the preaching of Guru Nanak Dev Ji are a ray of hope to spread the message of brotherhood, humanity, global peace and unity. Dr S. P. Singh (former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar) honourary General Secretary, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council while discussing about the various events dedicated to the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji which have been going on for last few months, told that this institution is committed to spread the preaching and teachings of Guru ji. He further added that the purpose to organise such events in the college is to inculcate the religious moral values in the students. Prof Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT and GGNIVS motivated the students to follow the Guru in spirit and not in the form only. Dr Arvinder Singh, college Principal, extended a warm welcome to all present and also expressed gratitude for being the part of this pious event. He mentioned that all the educational institutions running under the efficient guidance and supervision of the Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council are committed to spread the divine messages and the teachings of Guru ji all around the globe for which these kind of pious events are being organised. Gurmat Sabha and Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle of the college announced the result of ‘Dastar Sajaao’ competition. The winners of this competition were chosen stream-wise: from B.Com., Gurmeet Singh, Amandeep Singh and Harpreet Singh stood first, second and third respectively, from B.A. and B.Sc. Manjinder Singh, Simran Singh Lotey and Jaswant Singh grabbed first, second and third prize respectively, from BCA and B.Voc. Harsimran Singh, Parmeet Singh and Arshdeep Singh grabbed first, second and third prize respectively, from Post Graduation Dilbag Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Kunvarjot Singh stood first, second and third respectively and Kulwinder Singh of B.A. second year was given consolation prize. All were awarded with the prizes and certificates of appreciation were conferred on all the participants. After ‘Ardas’ ceremony guru kalangar was distributed among all. Prof Prithpal Singh Kapur (former president of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council), S. Bhagwant Singh, Er. G. K.Singh, Dr Gajinder Singh, S. Hardeep Singh, S. Jasbir Singh, Principal Gunmeet Kaur, Prof Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, Principal Dr Harpreet Singh and Principal Shikha were also present. Prof Charanjeet Singh and Prof Mandeep Kaur conducted the stage gracefully.
