Chandigarh September 26, 2023: Central Placement Cell organized a session for Training & Placement Officers and Student Placement Coordinators of various departments of Panjab University with an audience of more than 80 Training and Placement Officers and students. The dignitaries invited from the industry were Hemant Sharma, Director, Project Management, Priority Technology Holiding and Sharad Bansal, Vice President Project Management, Priority Technology Holiding.
Prof. Meena Sharma, Honorary Director, Central Placement Cell apprised the audience about various activities undertaken by Central Placement Cell like webinars, workshops, Expert Talks, placement drives which focus on overall development and welfare of the students of Panjab University. She also highlighted the need for stronger industry academia interaction as it will help in overall development of the students and exploring better placement opportunities for them.
Hemant Sharma elaborated some key requirements like adaptive thinking, exploratory mindset, collaborative skills, and up to date knowledge for defending an interview. He also emphasized connecting with alumni, conducting mock interviews and starting a club or community for connecting the corporate world and finding avenues in the private sector.
Sharad Bansal briefly discussed the tricks for choosing an employer and answered the queries of students regarding direct and indirect communication, personality development, impressive CV, and various avenues for the languages and other professional students by giving various examples.
Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, Associate Director, Central Placement Cell advised the placement coordinators regarding conducting placement activities and made the audience aware about the various methods for betterment of placements in Panjab university and highlighted the issue of bridging the gap between companies and students through the efforts of student and faculty of placement team of the departments which participated in this session,
The session ended with vote of thanks by Professor Ganga Ram Chaudhary, Associate Director, and Central Placement Cell.
