Central Placement Cell, PU organised “Industry Academia Meet”
The Central Placement Cell organised its annual “Industry Academia Meet” on 5th April, 2023 in Law Auditorium, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, April 5, 2023: The Central Placement Cell organised its annual “Industry Academia Meet” on 5th April, 2023 in Law Auditorium, Panjab University, Chandigarh. More than 550 students across 38 departments attended the event. The dignitaries from the industry were Varun Puri (Director Deloitte Consulting), Vivek Atray (ex-IAS Officer), G.B. Singh (Regional Head- SBI Mutual Fund), Dr. Yogesh Nagpal (Founder MD- Winsome Intellectual Property Solutions). Prof. Harsh Nayyar, Director, Research and Development Cell, PU was the Chief Guest of the event. Prof. Sanjay Kaushik (DCDC) was the guest of honour of the event. Dignitaries released poster for “AVSAR-II” the placement drive of Panjab University to be held on 28th and 29th April,2023.
Prof. Meena Sharma (Honorary Director- CPC) formally welcomed the dignitaries and advised students to inculcate innovation and practical knowledge to enhance their employability in the industry. Prof Harsh Nayyar emphasised upon the dynamic and evolving demands of industry and the need of continuous learning and growth to sustain in this dynamic corporate world.
Prof. Sanjay Kaushik highlighted the relevance of dynamic skillset and right attitude to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Varun Puri giving reference to his personal experiences talked about the 6 essential pillars to make students ready for the industry.
Vivek Atray interacted with the students about the transition required to survive in the industry. He focused upon being self-driven and enhancing the skillset and competency in order to continuously work upon oneself. He discussed about the potential areas where students can tap upon. The experts further stressed upon the requirement of having the right attitude and being on the path of continuous learning to excel in the corporate world. They advised students to be self-driven and develop the competency and required skill set to make themselves ready for the industry.
Dr Amandeep Singh Marwaha Associate Director Central Placement Cell briefed the students about the placement process to be followed in AVSAR the placement drive using the mobile app platform.
Prof. Sarbjeet Singh expressed gratitude and gave the formal vote of thanks to the dignitaries and ended the event by wishing students the best for their future.
