Central Session on sepsis on occasion of World Sepsis Day
To commemorate World Sepsis Day, Dept of Microbiology, DMCH, organized a central session today.
Ludhiana, September 13, 2022: To commemorate World Sepsis Day, Dept of Microbiology, DMCH, organized a central session today. Sepsis arises when the body’s response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs. It may lead to shock, multi-organ failure or even death if not treated.
During the session, various topics were presented by experts.
Present on the occasion were Dr Sandeep Puri, Principal, Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean, Academics, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Medical Superintendent Dr Ashwani Chaudhary, Medical Suptd., consultants and residents of the hospital.
Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary, DMCH Managing Society, said that sessions like this are an important tool to broaden the horizons of young doctors.
Principal, Dr Sandeep Puri lauded the efforts of the department.
Dr Veenu Gupta, Prof & Head, Dept of Microbiology gave a presentation on “Blood Culture: Purpose, Pitfalls & Clinical Impact” , Dr PL Gautam , Prof & Head, Critical Care Medicine, presented on the topic “Assessment of organ perfusion in septic shock” and Dr Rajesh Mahajan, Professor, Dept of Medicine presented a talk on ‘Management of Sepsis”.
A quiz on World Sepsis Say awareness was also organized where Dr Ramandeep Singh, (Surgery) was declared winner and Dr. Ilamjot Kaur (Anaesthesia) was declared
