Central University of Punjab celebrates 75th Republic Day of India with patriotic spirit
The Central University of Punjab observed the 75th Republic Day of India on its campus with utmost fervor, enthusiasm and patriotic devotion. On this occasion, Prof. Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari, the Vice-Chancellor, unfurled the National Flag and the University Flag at the university campus. After the flag-hoisting ceremony and inspection of the parade, the Vice-Chancellor exchanged Republic Day greetings with participants. The distinguished guests on this occasion were Karamjit Singh, Pradhan, Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Ghudda and distinguished personalities of Village Ghudda.

While addressing the faculty, officers, staff members, students, and family members of employees, Prof. Tiwari, the Vice-Chancellor, stated that Bharat is the Matrika of Constitution, envisioning the establishment of value-based, inclusive and patriotic society. He acknowledged the contributions of our freedom fighters and constitution drafting committee led by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in enabling us live in an independent and democratic country. Therefore, it becomes our duty to actualize their vision of AtamNirbhar Bharat by acting as responsible citizens and contribute in Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s effort to make our country Viksit Bharat@2047.
Prof. Tiwari emphasized that our ancient Indian Knowledge System have always guided us to adopt sustainable lifestyle, enhance capacity building of our youngsters and empower our citizens to contribute in nation’s economy. He emphasized the need for our youngsters to depart from the colonial and west-centric mindset and return to our indigenous approach for optimum utilization of Amrit Kaal. Similarly, our researchers should find innovative solutions to local issues by adopting Land to Lab Approach. Prof. Tiwari exhorted that our nation could reclaim the position of VishwaGuru by practicing the philosophy of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwaas aur Sabka Prayas.’ The Vice-Chancellor inspired university fraternity to work hard, curate new knowledge for welfare of society and bring glory to the university by emerging as leaders in their profession.
Enriching the event with a touch of artistic flair, students from the Department of Performing and Fine Arts held the audience mesmerized with their grand rendition of patriotic melodies, evoking a sense of awe and admiration among the attendees. Towards the end, Dr. Vijay Sharma, Registrar, CU Punjab, proposed a formal vote of thanks.
