Central University of Punjab obtained 9th position in Outlook-ICARE Rankings for ‘India’s top 20 Central Universities in 2022’
Bathinda, August 8, 2022: The Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, under the dynamic leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, has added another feather to its cap by obtaining the 9th position in the list of ‘India’s Top 20 Central Universities in 2022’ released under Outlook-ICARE India’s Top University Rankings 2022. The university has improved its rankings by two spots as compared to last year's 11th rank in the Outlook 2021 rankings and by three spots as compared to the 12th rank in the Outlook 2020 rankings. This ranking was released by Outlook India with the aim of helping students make an informed choice.
Outlook India evaluated educational institutions on five parameters: Academic & Research Excellence, Industry Interface & Placement, Infrastructure and Facilities, Governance & Extension, and Diversity & Outreach. In all these parameters put together, CUPB got an overall score of 860.81 points out of 1000 points in the Outlook-ICARE 2022 Rankings, which is 266.87 points higher as compared to last year's overall score obtained in the Outlook 2021 rankings.
It is pertinent to mention that CUPB has improved its performance in NIRF India Rankings 2022 by obtaining the 81st position in the ‘Top Universities of India’ category as compared to the 84th position in NIRF India Rankings 2021. The improvement in university’s performance in NIRF India-2022 Ranking and Outlook-ICARE India Ranking-2022 reflects the improvement in CUPB's educational quality standards.
Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the entire CUPB fraternity on this accomplishment. He stated that it is a moment of immense pride for us as the Central University of Punjab has been at the forefront of representing new Central Universities of India (established since 2009 and afterwards) in the list of Top 100 Universities in NIRF India Rankings 2022 and the Top 20 Central Universities of India in Outlook ICARE India’s Top Universities Rankings 2022. He attributed this success to the commendable efforts put in by the university’s faculty, research scholars, students and entire non-teaching community. Prof. Tiwari motivated the CUPB fraternity to work hard and take this university to new heights in the field of education and research.
