Central University of Punjab organised webinar on "Swami Vivekananda’s role in the freedom struggle" on National Youth Day
On National Youth Day, the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB), under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, organized a webinar on "Swami Vivekananda’s role in the freedom struggle" to channelize the energy of youth for nation building.

Bathinda, January 13, 2022: On National Youth Day, the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB), under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, organized a webinar on "Swami Vivekananda’s role in the freedom struggle" to channelize the energy of youth for nation building. The programme was conducted as a part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav programme series to commemorate the 159th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Shri K. Raka Sudhakar Rao, Author, Sr. Journalist and Teacher at the Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence, was the distinguished speaker of this programme.
While addressing the participants, Shri K. Raka Sudhakar Rao stated that Swami Vivekananda was a great Indian Saint who not only represented Indian culture at the international level and guided us on the path of spiritual enlightenment, but his vision has been a source of motivation for many young minds to serve our country and contribute towards the Indian national movement. He talked about the influence of Swami Vivekananda’s patriotic views on Sri Aurobindo Ghosh, Hemchandra Ghosh, Bhupendra Nath Dutta, and other independence warriors of that time. He shared that Swami Ji’s teachings of religious acceptance, compassion, and tolerance have guided his devotees, especially Bhagini Nivedita (Margaret Elizabeth Noble), to work towards women empowerment, social upliftment, and nation-building. During his lecture, Shri Sudhakar Rao cited several books and published records to state that the personality and thoughts of Swami Vivekananda inspired the great nationalist leaders of the 20th century, including Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, and others, to devote their lives in freedom struggle for India’s independence.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Narendra. Dr. K. Palsania introduced the keynote speaker. Prof. R.K. Wusirika, Dean Incharge Academic, expressed his gratitude towards the distinguished speaker. He gave a formal vote of thanks towards the end of the programme. Faculty, research scholars, and students from CUPB and other esteemed educational institutions virtually attended this programme.
