Central University of Punjab organized a CME on Scientific Publication
Intending to provide knowledge on how to write and publish scientific works, the Department of Pharmacology and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Natural Products, Central University of Punjab, under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, organized a CME on Scientific Publication in which four lecture series were conducted.
Bathinda, March 14, 2023: Intending to provide knowledge on how to write and publish scientific works, the Department of Pharmacology and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Natural Products, Central University of Punjab, under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, organized a CME on Scientific Publication in which four lecture series were conducted. The CME was sponsored by the Indian Pharmacological Society. Around 200 delegates from various departments actively participated in the event. Eminent speakers from PGIMER, Chandigarh and AIIMS, Bathinda, enlightened the delegates with their knowledge. Prof. Anjana Munshi, Director Research and Development Cell, Central University of Punjab, cordially welcomed the guests.
Speaker for the first lecture was Prof. Bikash Medhi, Professor, PGIMER, Chandigarh, in which he explained how to publish in scientific peer-reviewed journals.
The second lecture comprised statistical input in scientific publications, explained thoroughly by Dr. Ajay Prakash, Associate Professor, PGIMER, Chandigarh. In the third lecture, Dr. Pramod K. Avti, Associate Professor, PGIMER, Chandigarh, demonstrated search strategies for scientific reports and databases. Dr. Abhinav Kanwal conducted the last lecture. He demonstrated how and why one should prefer publishing in UGC care journals and explained the concepts of indexing and non-indexing journals.
Dr. Randhir Singh, HOD, Department of Pharmacology, Central University of Punjab, and the entire faculty of pharmacology felicitated the guests. In his concluding remarks, the organizing chairperson, Dr. D. Harikrishna Reddy, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Central University of Punjab, thanked the speakers, faculty members, students, and the members of the organizing committee for actively participating and successfully completing the workshop.
