Central University of Punjab successfully organised Workshop on Capacity Building for E-Content/MOOCs Development

The Central University of Punjab, led by Prof. R.P. Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor, achieved a significant milestone with the successful organisation of a two-day Workshop on Capacity Building for E-Content/MOOCs Development from September 21 to 22. The University's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) hosted this workshop. Around 93 Faculty members and research scholars from Central University of Punjab and various higher education institutions in the Bathinda region attended this programme.

Bathinda, September 22, 2023: The Central University of Punjab, led by Prof. R.P. Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor, achieved a significant milestone with the successful organisation of a two-day Workshop on Capacity Building for E-Content/MOOCs Development from September 21 to 22. The University's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) hosted this workshop. Around 93 Faculty members and research scholars from Central University of Punjab and various higher education institutions in the Bathinda region attended this programme.
 

Prof. Rajender Mishra, a distinguished personality with a rich background as the Ex-Director of IMC, MANUU Hyderabad, and a retired Research Scientist from UGC-CEC, New Delhi, was invited speaker of this workshop. He provided comprehensive training to the participants on E-Content/MOOCs Development.
 

Over the course of the program Prof. Rajinder Mishra briefed about future directions in e-content development, various types of e-content, designing MOOCs, script writing for e-content development, importance of voice modulation in audio-visual content, utility of incorporating multimedia elements in teaching–learning process, and usage of technology in curriculum delivery. He stressed that lectures should be delivered through e-content and classrooms should be utilized as a discussion forum for resolving doubts of students.
 

The two-day workshop featured six informative sessions covering E-Content Creation, Instructional Design, Platform Utilization, Effective Pedagogical Strategies, Practical Approaches in E-Content Development, Identifying the Right Technology, Writing for E-Learning, the Importance of Script for Video Component, and Publishing Content on MOOCs and SWAYAM. These sessions were met with enthusiastic participation from attendees.
 

In the valedictory session, Prof. Monisha Dhiman, Director of IQAC, presented the workshop report. She highlighted that the workshop had achieved its objective of empowering participants with the skills and knowledge required for designing and developing e-content across various subjects.
 

In his presidential address, Prof. R.K. Wusirika, Dean Incharge Academics, expressed his delight at the workshop's success. He emphasized the university aims to adopt innovative educational approaches to enhance the quality of online learning resources. He expressed optimism that participants would leave the workshop equipped with enriched knowledge and practical insights, thereby contributing to the advancement of online education in the region and beyond.

 
Towards the end of valedictory session, Prof. P.K. Mishra, Head, Dept. of Economic Studies, expressed gratitude towards the invited speaker and delivered a formal vote of thanks.
