Centre for Public Health, Panjab University (PU) today celebrated, "World Heart Day" on the "Use Heart for Action" theme at the Student Centre, North Campus, Sector 14, Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, September 27, 2024: Centre for Public Health, Panjab University (PU) today celebrated, "World Heart Day" on the "Use Heart for Action" theme at the Student Centre, North Campus, Sector 14, Chandigarh.
Dr. Komal Sehgal, Coordinator, Centre for Public Health, led the event with skill, while Dr. Manoj Kumar, Assistant Professor, stood out with his dedication, supporting students in encouraging them to create awareness about heart health.
The opening of the event explained the "Importance of Heart Health," delivered by Dr. Navjyot Khosla, MPH student followed by an enthusiastic dance performance by the students. The event focused on the idea of, "Beating the Heart Diseases, by Prevention being a prime key to Peace." Additionally Dr. Nishant, MPH student explained the physiological difference between heart attack and cardiac arrest and demonstrated CPR with the help of Nirmal Choudhary, MPH student.
Lastly, the session was concluded by Vijay Kumar and Rajesh Choudhary, Members of Red Cross Society, Haryana, enlightening the young minds with reasons behind Heart Disease, consequences of heart disease, and putting a light on making, “The best use of available resources, when in emergency", concluding the session by guiding a student volunteer from audience further elaborating , 'Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing and Circulation’ by "Look ,Listen and Feel" on a mannequin.
