Centre for Social Work organised lecture on “Globalization and Social Work”
Chandigarh, March 7, 2022: Centre for Social Work organised a lecture on "Globalization and Social Work". Prof. Neeraj Kaushal, Columbia University, School of Social Work was the key speaker of the event.
Neeraj Kaushal shared her experiences and scenario of Social Work in the United States of America. She had discussed about her work on migration. She had interacted with students related to field work practicum and challenges faced by them in the field. Students were keen to know about specialisation in clinical social work and family conflict intervention. The students also discussed the social problems prevalent in their area. They also shared the skills used by them during the working with diverse populations. The session was very interactive and insightful for the students.
Rani Mehta, Chairperson, Department of Sociology alongwith Smita Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics and Prof Monica Munjial Singh, Centre for Social Work also shared their opinions. Gaurav Gaur, Chairperson welcomed all the dignitaries.
