Centre govt and Punjab govt probing Ludhiana Court blast case jointly: Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju
Visits blast site, inquires well-being of injured persons by visiting hospital & also interacts with lawyers
Ludhiana, December 24, 2021: Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju today said that centre government and Punjab government are jointly probing the Ludhiana Court blast case, that occurred at 12:22 pm on the second floor of at District Courts Complex, here yesterday.
During his visit to Ludhiana today, Kiren Rijiju took briefing regarding the entire incident from the Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and other senior officers.
Later, he also visited the blast site and inquired about the health of injured persons by visiting Dayanand Medical College & Hospital. In the presence of District & Sessions Judge Munish Singhal and other judges, he also interacted with the lawyers in the conference room of District Courts Complex, here, took their feedback and assured of full support.
He was also accompanied by Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Parkash and Chairman National Commission for Scheduled Castes Vijay Sampla, besides several others.
While addressing a press conference at Circuit House here today, Kiren Rijiju said that the Union government is taking the Ludhiana Court Blast case very seriously as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has showed concern towards it.
He said that he has personally spoken to the Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi over the phone today and has assured fulsome support in investigations. He said that an in depth and professional probe is underway and the perpetrators of this crime would be identified soon.
He said that he would not go into the technical details of the ongoing investigation, which is being carried out by all agencies, but assured that soon, they would crack the case. He also appreciated District & Sessions Judge Munish Singhal, who did not let the court work to get disrupted even after this incident.
He said that main aim of his visit was to instil confidence in the minds of Ludhianvis as well as people of Punjab, that the perpetrators of this crime would be tracked down. He said that both Union Government and Punjab government would jointly work to crack this case.
It is pertinent to mention that one person died and six others got injured in a blast that took place in a gents toilet on the second floor of District Courts Complex, here yesterday (December 23, 2021).
The names of injured persons are as follows: Sandeep Kaur (31), a resident of Raikot (Ludhiana), Sharanjit Kaur (25), resident of Jamalpur Ludhiana. Both are undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital Ludhiana. Manish Kumar (32), resident of Police Colony Jamalpur Ludhiana is undergoing treatment at CMC Ludhiana, Kuldeep Singh Mand (50) of BindraBan Road Ludhiana is undergoing treatment at DMC Ludhiana and Krishan Khanna (75) of Phase 1, Dugri is also undergoing treatment at DMC Ludhiana. Gurpreet Kaur (35), a resident of Jamalpur is undergoing treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur Charitable Hospital, here. Thankfully the condition of all injured persons is out of danger and are recovering fast.
During his visit to the city yesterday, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had announced free treatment for all 6 injured persons.
