Certification Distribution Ceremony for 4th Batch of DGFT & FIEO Certification Program on Exports held

Ludhiana, December 6,2024: The Certification Distribution Ceremony for the Fourth Batch of Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) & Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) “Certification Program on Exports” was organized today at the Office of Additional DGFT Ludhiana.

Utpal Kumar Acharya (Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Ludhiana) along with Sarvjit Singh (Convenor, FIEO Punjab State Committee on Exports & Proprietor, Man International) joined the Certificate Distribution Ceremony of the Fourth Batch as Chief Guests. Certificates were distributed to around 25 participants, who attended the Fourth Batch of this month-long course.

While interacting with the participants during the ceremony, Utpal Kumar Acharya, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Ludhiana said that, “This is a "First of its Kind" initiative taken all across the Country with an objective to hand hold and spread awareness among aspiring entrepreneurs, Start Ups and seasoned exporters about various facets involved in the overall exports processes and the support offered by various Government and other agencies to promote exports. Previously, Three Batches of Certification Programs on Exports were successfully conducted, with two held in Ludhiana and one in Amritsar. Additionally, some participants from these three batches have successfully started their own ventures. Such courses are being conducted free of cost through the DGFT Offices under the Government of India's Niryat Bandhu Scheme & I am pleased to share with you that DGFT Ludhiana Office was the first in India to take a lead and start this informative course in association with FIEO at Ludhiana. We have received an overwhelming response from the participants who completed the Fourth batch” & I am hopeful that some of participants from this batch will go on to establish their own startups and businesses.

While addressing participants during the ceremony, Sarvjit Singh, Convenor, FIEO Punjab State Committee on Exports emphasized, “the pivotal role of exports in driving global economic growth. He highlighted how exports empower individuals and businesses to explore & serve diverse International markets. Every country offers special incentives to its exporters, so as to increase the country's export share to become an important player in the Global Supply Chain. Exports also lead to employment generation through increased industrialization needed to meet the increasing demand of global consumers. The Government of India is also focusing on increasing India’s share in global value chain and have taken few initiative by introducing various new schemes such as, One District One Product (ODOP), Product Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes and many more to be introduced in coming times,  which may act as game changer for Indian exports. He further highlighted the significant role of FIEO in promoting exports, underscoring its efforts to create a supportive ecosystem for exporters. FIEO actively works to bridge the gap between export community and the government, ensuring that exporters are aware of and benefit from various policy initiatives and schemes. By organizing Capacity Building Programs, Trade Delegations, and Buyer Seller Meets, FIEO provides platform to the Export community to explore global markets effectively. Its focus extends to addressing exporter's challenges, facilitating their concerns with concerned departments of government, and creating an environment that enables businesses to drive India’s export growth. I personally appreciate this DGFT’s Export Program initiative, as this will not only spread awareness about various support and schemes offered by Government of India, it will also help in more and more people opting for exploring export businesses, contributing more toward India’s economic growth and by creating more and more employments”.
