CGC Jhanjeri excelled in National Super Karting Championship

Won 4 Trophies & “Best Electric Kart of the Championship” Award

Mohali, October 27, 2018: The students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri left all other competitors far behind in Electric National Super Karting Championship 2018 organized by SR Motorsports at Hasten Speedways, Hyderabad. In this contested competition more than 50 teams from 44 engineering colleges from all over India took part. The competition was split into two categories, static & dynamic tests for electric kart or IC Engine Karts. In view of the future belonging to electric cars, the students of CGC Jhanjeri designed an electric Go Kart instead of an IC Engine Kart. After qualifying the Pre Final Round held at Ujjain and entered the final round held at Hyderabad.

The dynamic events consisted of brake test, skid pad test, acceleration test, autocross & endurance test while technical inspection, design evaluation, vehicle cost analysis and business plan constituted the static events. The Electric Kart of CGC Jhanjeri was declared the winner of Endurance Test, Skid Pad Test, Autocross & the Best Aesthetics Test. Based on winning maximum number of prizes, this Kart was adjudged as the “Best Electric Kart of the Championship”. The team of CGC Jhanjeri consisted of 14 students who worked throughout the year

Congratulating the students & their mentors, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC declared that all the expenses of this project as well as other innovative projects of the students will be borne by the management.
