Chandigarh, April 26, 2022: ACIC RISE Association, CGC Landran organised Ideathon - Samridh Gaon pratiyogita -2022’ in association with Kheti Virasat Mission. The Chief Guest Ms Rupsi Garg, Associate Director, Kheti Vikas Mission inaugurated the event in the presence of students, faculty and senior management from CGC Landran. The event sought to provide a solid platform to innovators and entrepreneurs to showcase their innovations aimed at promoting community development through social and economic empowerment. Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) RISE, CGC Landran, supported by AIM, NITI Aayog (Govt. of India), aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship culture in semi-urban and rural India. In her address, Ms Garg urged young innovators to come up with innovations which would bring forth not just economic prosperity for the community but also holistic social development and emotional well-being for the beneficiaries.
Around 50-plus rural entrepreneurs from across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, among a host of other states, presented their innovations in agriculture, traditional cooking ware, organic farming techniques, handicrafts & handmade accessories, fabric design, food production and processing, among others. An exhibition of innovative products from proprietors of small scale enterprises from across Punjab was also put up in campus at CGC Landran. The stalls displayed products ranging from hand-woven Khadi products to home-made, gluten free desserts like Kheer. A panel discussion shining a light on the opportunities and challenges in rural entrepreneurship was also organised. It underscored the role of associations such as ACIC-RISE in promoting holistic community development. The event concluded with the winners of the Ideathon competition being felicitated with attractive prizes as well as the opportunity to be a part of the incubation program at CGC Landran. Mr Sunil Kumar won the first prize for his innovation idea, followed by Mr Satinderpal Singh and Mr Aanand Kumar, winners of the second and third prizes, respectively.
