CGC Landran celebrates Teej
The campus at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran echoed with lively boliyaan and beats of the dhol as Teej the traditional festival of Sawan (the rainy season), was celebrated with fervor. Renowned Punjabi Actor and Director Sunita Dhir graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Students participated in a host of competitions including Mehendi application, Phulkari making, Best dressed Muttiyaar, Best dressed Gabru, Sohni Pagg, Boli recitation and others. Colourful swings, traditional Punjabi food, Giddha and Mehendi application enhanced the festive ambience of the celebration. Ms Sawan Queen Competition was also organised. Preeti from B.Sc. Biotech was crowned the winner. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran extended their best wishes to the faculty and students on the occasion. They also said that celebrating these festivals helped the students understand our rich culture in a much better way and also stay connected to their roots.
