CGC Landran students invited as speakers in event hosted by Google Developers Group
Two students from CGC Landran, Saksham Singh, B.Tech CSE, 3rd year and Mahima Bhasin, B.Tech CSE, 4th year were invited as speakers at Google I/O Extended - a regional event organized by Google Developers Group, Jalandhar, Punjab, attended by 500-plus delegates including industry experts.
Chandigarh, June 14, 2022: Two students from CGC Landran, Saksham Singh, B.Tech CSE, 3rd year and Mahima Bhasin, B.Tech CSE, 4th year were invited as speakers at Google I/O Extended - a regional event organized by Google Developers Group, Jalandhar, Punjab, attended by 500-plus delegates including industry experts.
Saksham conducted a session on ‘Design Thinking’ while Mahima took a session on ‘Machine Learning.’ Both the students are part of the Google Developer Students Club (GDSC) – a college based community group at CGC Landran, which serves as a robust platform for students to learn new skills and simultaneously practice what they learn in theory through club activities like hands-on workshops, tech talks, etc.
Saksham who is also the GDSC Lead at CGC Landran was selected as the student lead by Google through a stringent selection process, from among 100-plus applicants from CGC. He said, “I am proud of the fact that at CGC Landran we have access to such global programs. Being a part of this club, has given me the opportunity to learn as also teach my junior club members about software development, web development etc. and to come up with practical solutions to problems that we study in theory.”
The GDSC in CGC Landran was established in the year 2018. Globally, GDSCs are present in 106 countries.
