Challans worth Rs 1.14 crore issued against 27700 persons violating government instructions
Challans being issued against people not wearing masks, violating home quarantine instructions, social distancing, spitting in public
Ludhiana: To strictly ensure the compliance of government instructions issued by the Punjab government regarding Covid 19, the Police Commissionerate Ludhiana has fined 27700 persons and challans worth Rs 1.14 crore have been issued against them.
Commissioner of Police Mr Rakesh Kumar Agrawal has informed that till July 15, 2020, challans worth a total of Rs 1,14,83,800 have been issued against the violators. He warned of strict action against all persons who violate the government instructions.
A total of 25419 challans worth Rs 1,11,09,600 have been issued against persons for not wearing masks, 8 challans worth Rs 11,500 have been issued against persons for violating home quarantine, 2195 challans worth Rs 2,25,700 have been issued against persons for spitting in public and 78 challans worth Rs 1,37,000 have been issued against persons for violating social distancing instructions.
He further stated that 28969 traffic challans have been issued and 1872 vehicles have been impounded for not following traffic rules.
Mr Agrawal said that in view of increasing number of positive cases in the city, the Ludhiana Police is now strictly challaning the violators. He warned that if any person is caught violating government instructions, strict action would be taken against them. He urged the residents to follow all government instructions strictly as it would keep everyone around us safe.
