Chandigarh chapter of Round Table India Foundation helps establish school infrastructure
RTIF ramps up school infrastructure in Punjab and North
Mohali, June 25, 2022: Under Freedom Through Education the ongoing national project of RTIF (Round Table India Foundation) aimed at providing physical infrastructure to schools to ensure quality education facilities for underprivileged children, 14 classrooms have been established in Mohali , Patiala, and Baddi.
Dignitaries present on the occasion of the inauguration of classrooms included Moriya Philips, National President, RTIF, Hitesh Bansal, Area Chairman; and Hemant Aggarwal, Chairman, Chandigarh Chapter Chandigarh United Round Table 270. The local chapter of RTIF also donated 111 cycles to meritorious and needy children of schools in Baddi and nearby schools.
“We have also built classrooms in Mullanpur, Punjab; six classroom blocks at Lodhimajra, Himachal Pradesh with support from P&G and four classroom blocks at Rajputana village, Patiala, with financial support from Punjab Kings XI,” said Hitesh Bansal, Chairman, Area 18, RTIF.
What's more, RTIF, a Chennai headquartered trust dedicated to community service at large, has built four school classroom blocks at Hoshiarpur with financial support received from Punjab Kings XI.
Hitesh said that community service projects of RTIF consist of building classrooms, toilets and providing other amenities like drinking water facility, library, science lab, playgrounds, etc., to schools across the country, catering to children from lesser privileged sections of the society.
According to Bansal, RTIF since 1997 has built over 7505 classrooms in 3149 projects impacting 7.90 million children across India with a total outlay of Rs 336 crore and a covered area built of almost three million square feet.
