Chandigarh Group of Colleges inaugurated road safety week road safety week with road show
The aim of the Road Show was to inculcate virtuous traffic sense among the residents
Mohali: Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri in collaboration with Traffic Police, Mohali and Honda Pvt Ltd flagged off road show on the first day of the Road Safety Week. Placards displaying motivating slogans on road safety were carried during the processing while making residents aware about safety rules.
The road show was flagged off by Dr. G. G. Sastry, Director Academics. The aim of the Road Show was to inculcate virtuous traffic sense among the residents and help reduce the rate of daily accidents. Several events on Road Safety are to be held this week including a Road Safety seminar by Janakraj, ASI, Incharge Education Cell, Traffic Police, Mohali to enlighten students on the various aspects of road safety and awareness campaigns at different traffic lights etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC, said that the reasons like excess speed, cell phone driving, drink and drive, disturbed roads and faulty machinery are the reasons for several accidents. So, he advised the students to drive the vehicles with utmost concentration and attention to avoid accidents because accidents occur merely because of trivial negligence, which can easily be rectified and mishaps can be avoided. He later, also students not to drive without a driving license, helmets and seat belts for safety.
