Chandigarh, November 13, 2013: Chandigarh Judicial Academy under the aegis of Punjab & Haryana High Court is organising National Conference on the theme ‘Women Rights are Human Rights: Role of Judiciary to transform the Rhetoric into Reality” on November 16 and 17.

Divulging the details a Spokesperson of Punjab & Haryana High Court said that Inaugural Session would be chaired by Justice R.M. Lodha, Judge, Supreme Court of India.  Gopal Subramaniam, Sr. Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Former Solicitor General, India would deliver keynote address.  The Inaugural Session would be co-chaired by Dr. Justice B.S. Chauhan, he added.

Giving more Details the Spokesperson said that workshop would have 5 working sessions on different themes.  Justice Ranjana P. Desai, Justice Jasti Chelameswar, Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice A.K. Sikri from the Supreme Court of India, Chief Justices and Judges from different High Courts of the country and Judicial Officers from across the country would be attending this Conference. 

He said that Noted Resource Persons namely Anita Punj, IPS, Deputy Director, National Police Academy, Hyderabad, Usha Rai, Journalist, Shruti Bedi, Asstt. Professor, UILS, Panjab University, Chandigarh,  Charuwali Khanna, Member, National Women Commission, Vrinda Grover, Human Rights Lawyer and Activist, Sumita Misra, IAS, Haryana, Vinny Mahajan, IAS, Punjab, Priya Hingorani, Advocate, Supreme Court, Faizan Mustafa, Vice Chancellor, NALSAR, Hyderabad, Prof. Rajesh Gill, Department of Sociology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Prof. P.S. Jaswal, Vice Chancellor, RGNLU, Patiala and  V. Neerja, IPS Punjab would be sharing their views, experiences and expectations with participants of the Conference.
