Chandigarh vs UP match draw, Services' second win
The host team made many chances but the goal could not be scored, Services won the second match by a big margin
Chandigarh, November 23, 2021: Hosts Chandigarh's second match in the Santosh Trophy ended with a draw with UP with 0-0 scoreline. In the second match of the day, the Services Sports Control Board registered a victory and defeated the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association by a score of 3-0. Former footballer Gulab Chand was the chief guest in the second round matches and he blessed all the players. He was felicitated by Vikas Sharma, Senior Vice President, Chandigarh Football Association and Rakesh Bakshi, General Secretary.
The teams of Chandigarh Football Association and Uttar Pradesh Football Association faced each other in the first match played at the Football Ground of Sector-7 Sports Complex. The match started with aggressive football and both the teams started scoring goals. Chandigarh players got a chance and they did not get success to open an account on the scoreboard. In the 27th minute, Mohammad Mustafa Khan of UP was shown the yellow card. After this the team made a change but in the first half both the teams could not open the account. The Uttar Pradesh attack was also well restrained by the hosts.
In the second half, the Chandigarh team made the first change and in place of Karan, Shivam Pandey was sent in by coach Muzammil. Shivam tried to make a move, he also got success but the goal could not be scored. In the 52nd minute, Sanvir Singh was shown the yellow card. The coach called him out in the 60th minute and sent Gurjot to the field. The hosts were putting pressure on UP and the team also got chances to score. The team could not score a goal on the final stage and the match ended with a score of 0-0. Chandigarh stopper Mohammad Hamad was adjudged the player of the match.
Services register second win:
The Services team, which started with a win, registered their second win in a one-sided match against Jammu and Kashmir. Services scored the first goal in the fourth minute itself and the goal was scored by Tongbram Krishnakanta Singh. Jammu and Kashmir also retaliated but they could not succeed. For Services, Pintu scored the second goal in the 19th minute and made it 2-0 on the scoreboard, the same score for the first half. Changes were made from both sides in the second half but the services team got success in scoring. In the 60th minute, Vivek scored the goal. The team was on the verge of victory but in the 90th minute their Bhabindra Mala Thakuri was thrown out with a red card. Services won the match 3–0 and Sunil was adjudged player of the match.
