CHASCON-2019 concludes at PU

Chandigarh, March 15, 2019: 13th Chandigarh Science Congress, CHASCON-2019 on the theme “Science and Technology for New India” organized by Panjab University in association with Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC), concluded, here today with the valedictory function and prize distribution.
T.R. Sharma, Director, National Food-Agri Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Mohali, complimented the University for setting higher standards during the 13th CHASCON. He appreciated the theme of the Congress as Science and Technology are the key elements to developments for New India and also appreciated the initiatives of the organizing team in making this an eco-friendly event. He said that CHASCON has provided a wonderful platform of interaction between different institutions. He said NABI and Panjab University have benefited from such platform and are now collaborating in many research projects.
Prof. Raghuram Rao Akkinepally, Director, NIPER, Mohali congratulated the winners and said that CHASCON has served as a platform in bringing together all the members of Chandigarh Region Innovation and knowledge Cluster (CRIKC), researchers, scientists and industrialists. He further added that the platform has served as a source of inspiration to young researchers and scientists in developing new research ideas and futuristic visions for society.
Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean of University Instructions, PU while appreciating the efforts of the CHASCON team said that it is heartening to learn record number of delegates have participated in the event. During the 3 day programme, there were many stimulating talks. CHASCON provided a platform for networking to the young scientists.
Prof. Rajat Sandhir, Coordinator of the CHASCON gave detailed presentation of the report of the 3 day event informing that there were more than 1200 delegates, 550 papers, 2 Public Lectures, 20 Plenary Talks, 80 Oral and over 400 Posters and Quiz during the event. He also informed that the research reports from the event would be published in the form of proceedings or special issue of international journal.
Eminent scientists, members of CRIKC, faculty, researchers, students and around 1200 delegates participated in the Science Congress.
