Cheque of Rs 1.50 lakh handed over to mother of International Boxer Simranjit Kaur
Simranjit bagged Bronze in World Cup at New Delhi in 2018
Chandigarh: Living up to its promise of caring for the sportspersons, the Punjab Government today gave a cheque of Rs. 1.50 lakh to the mother of International level Boxer Simranjit Kaur here today.
Disclosing this, an official spokesman said that the cheque was handed over on behalf of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh by the Director, Sports, Mr. Sanjay Popli and the Deputy Director Sports Mr. Kartar Singh.
It is worth mentioning that Simranjit Kaur is currently attending camp for qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. She had won Bronze medal in the World Cup in New Delhi in the year 2018.
Both the officers applauding the achievements of Simranjit, assured her mother that the State Government would always be ready to assist the sportspersons who have brought laurels to Punjab.
