Chennai, August 19, 2019: One of the largest multi-facet group companies from Tamil Nadu, Chettinad Group today announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind Law School - Chettinad School of Law, in the city. With a commitment to offer quality education across segments, this Law School marks the launch of 6th institute by CARE (Chettinad Academy of Research & Education) that is also set to offer students a global perspective in the field of Law with the support of a strong international faculty board.
The Law institute was inaugurated in a formal event by Hon’ble Mr.Justice Dipak Misra, Former Chief Justice of India, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mohan Peiris, Former Chief Justice of Sri Lanka, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Kalyan Shrestha, Former Chief Justice of Nepal and Mr. MAMR. Muthiah, Trustee, CARE. Other eminent Guests who were present at the inauguration were Prof. (Dr.) V. Raji, Former Vice Chancellor, and Member Board of Management, Chettinad Academy of Research and Education; Prof. (Dr.) S. Shanthakumar, Director, Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar; Prof. (Dr.) Tara Prasad Sapkota, Former Dean, Tribhuvan University, Nepal; Prof. (Dr.) Krystian Antoni Complak, Former Vice-Dean, University of Wroclaw, Poland.
Commenting on the occasion, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dipak Misra, Former Chief Justice of India said “Legal education in the country is quiet coveted and it is imperative to have a strong, experienced and an international standard of education system that takes into account the changing landscape not just in the country but across the globe. Situated in Kelambakkam, the institute is spread across in 33+ acres with world-class facilities like wifi enabled, CCTV, Biometric, bi-cycles, residential hostels for boys and girls, recreational and sports facilities with ATM, Food Court, Banks & Beauty Parlour. In addition to 74 courses, Chettinad School of Law will offer specialization (Honours) papers in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Rights, International Economic Law and Policy, Arbitration and Human Rights in addition to this it also offers capsule courses in an array of legal subjects like Jurisprudence, Tort Law, International Commercial Arbitration and Comparative Constitution by renowned international practitioners.
